This page explains what information Toadstool Web Design collects through toadstoolweb.com and what we do with it. The short version: we collect what you choose to send us and some basic information about how the site gets used. We use it to reply to you and to improve the site, and we never sell it.
What we collect
When you use the contact form, we receive the information you enter: your name, email address, business name or website, the services you're interested in, and your message. If you email or call us directly, we have whatever you include in that email or call.
When you visit, we also collect information about how the site gets used. The next section explains what and how.
How we measure the site
We use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how people use this site: which sections they look at, what they click, how far they scroll, what kind of device and browser they use, and their approximate location (city or region). Clarity also records how the page is used, such as scrolling, mouse movement and clicks. It never captures what you type into the contact form.
Both tools set cookies so they can recognize a returning visitor. Cloudflare also counts visits, without cookies. We use this information to improve the site.
You can block these cookies in your browser's settings or with a content blocker. Google also offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics. You can read how Microsoft handles Clarity data in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
How we use it
- To reply to your inquiry and talk about your project.
- To keep a record of our conversation if we work together.
We don't sell, rent or trade your information, and we don't add you to a mailing list without asking.
Services that help run this site
A few trusted services handle parts of the site on our behalf. Each only gets what it needs to do its job:
- Cloudflare hosts the site, counts visits without cookies, and runs Turnstile, a spam check on the contact form that may look at basic technical details from your browser.
- Google Analytics measures how visitors use the site.
- Microsoft Clarity records how visitors use the site, with anything typed into forms hidden.
- Resend delivers contact form submissions to our inbox.
- Google Workspace provides our email, where your messages are stored.
- Google Fonts serves the site's typefaces, so your browser connects to Google to load them.
How long we keep it
Inquiries stay in our email for as long as they're useful for our conversation or our work together. If you'd like us to delete what you've sent, just ask.
Your choices
You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email [email protected] and we'll take care of it.
Children
This site is for businesses and isn't directed at children under 13. We don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
